Note: WHITE Lucky Strike was introduced in the 1940 Raymond Loewy rebrand. Although Green packages continued production into 1941 as the tail end of the old art, White is the predominant package for World War II. And no…it wasn’t about green dye for uniforms. Brand messaging (propaganda) at its finest! Indeed the true story is that Lucky was being surpassed by Camel at retail. The white label was meant to signify a healthier option through color theory, and it did indeed work.
