WEB EQUIPMENT

The required field gear to portray a 5th Ranger infantryman is quite basic. The web gear a member needs is not unlike any other infantry unit, and for an elite Ranger unit, there was little modification done to issue gear. All utilized field gear should be of the early OD#3 color. Most important to note, as a unit, equipment is carried very light while in the field. The only time M1928 packs are required to be used is mainly for D-Day invasion scenarios in which such an item is and would have been totally necessary. Also, the use of M1936 field suspenders and M1936 musette bags is strictly prohibited as Ranger units were not issued these pieces of gear and according to veteran accounts did  not much care for them in the first place, preferring the M1928 haversacks. So, in the field, simply the cartridge/pistol belt with attached equipment and perhaps an M1936 general purpose bag or rifle bandoleers should be carried. Required items will be highlighted in blue while optional items will be seem next to a black box.
